This intro' solo canoeing program is for those with basic tandem skills, including the J stroke.  This course will teach the flat water and moving water skills for paddling solo white water canoes.   The program will start at the Hermitage Park Paddling Centre in east central Edmonton for one (or possibly two) evenings (6:30-8:30 pm), an evening on the river in Edmonton and/or then spend one day on a local modest WW stream (9 am-4 pm).  All equipment will/can be supplied.  Participants do need to bring a towel and change of clothes, swims do happen occasionally!  Rain gear should be brought... only thunder storms chase us off the water.  For canoeing a pair of knee pads are helpful, and paddlers are welcome to bring along their own paddle and lifejacket.  For the day long river/ww session paddlers will car pool, and will need to bring lunch.  For the river sessions paddlers should have at least partial wet or dry suit, and a helmet (available from CCC).

This program: May 21, 23 & 26.
