This intro' tandem river canoeing program is for those with basic flatwater  skills, including the J stroke.  This course will teach the flat water and moving water skills for paddling tandem canoes on easy moving water.   The program will start at the Hermitage Park Ponds in east central Edmonton for one morning, the afternoon on the river in Edmonton and then spend the next day on a local easy river.  All equipment will/can be supplied, but participants are encouraged to bring/use their own.  Participants do need to bring a towel and change of clothes, swims do happen occasionally!  Rain gear should be brought... only thunder storms chase us off the water.  For canoeing a pair of knee pads are helpful.  For the day long river session paddlers will car pool, and will need to bring lunch.  For the river sessions paddlers should have at least good raingear.

This program:June 20, 9 am till 12:30 pm at Hermitage Park Ponds, then 1:30 till 5 pm on the North Saskatchewan River and

June 21, 9 am till 4:00 pm, on the river, possibly the Pembina or the Sturgeon
