This intro' solo river canoeing program is for those with basic flat-water  solo skills.  This course will teach the flat water and moving water skills for paddling solo canoes on easy moving water.   The program will start at either the Hermitage Park Ponds or Rundle Park Ponds in east central Edmonton for the first morning and the afternoon on the river in Edmonton and then spend one day on a local easy river.  All equipment will/can be supplied.  Participants do need to bring a lunch and a towel and change of clothes, swims do happen occasionally!  Rain gear should be brought... only thunder storms chase us off the water.   Paddlers are encouraged to bring along their own paddle and lifejacket.  For the day long river session paddlers will car pool.  For the river sessions paddlers should have at least good raingear, and a partial wet or drysuit would be ideal, and a helmet (available from CCC).

This program runs: June 19, at  Ponds in the morning, and the North Saskatchewan River in the afternoon

June 20 on a river close to Edmonton, the Pembina
