Jim & Deb had so much fun leading this trip last year they want to do it again!  It is a favourite of many of us.  The plan is to  leave Edmonton, early Saturday morning.  Drive out to the Berrymore Brdige (Hwy #759 south of Tomahawk) by 9:00 AM. A 100 min. drive from downtown Edmonton.  Unload, send the vehicles into Devon and then share a taxi back to the bridge.  Then two overnights camping on the river, Burtonsville and Bird Islands, with a finish Monday afternoon in Devon.  104 kms!  This is generally an easy run, there will be a few rocks to dodge, the occasional gravelly chute, and likely both sweepers and logjams to avoid, but usually easily done.  Basic river skills such as eddy turns, ferrying, staying tight to the inside of corners, and avoiding rocks will be required.  You need to be able to control your canoe, keeping it running straight, adjust for wind, etc.
