Ceyana Canoe Club
May 9 Up-date: We are planning a crew meeting on Wed. June 1, 7:00 PM on the Lund's patio. For this meeting every brigade participant will also need a CVBS Participant membership, registration for this is on the Zone 4 website here.
Ceyana Canoe Club members: We have already booked both our voyageur canoes for this event. We are now trying to gather up two crews of 8 to 10 paddlers each... 20 paddlers of mixed experience. With a few experienced (and we have many) crew we'll be able to handle a variety of paddlers. This announcement for club members like the more general announcement below, is for expressions of interest. We need to confirm who wants to paddle. Like most of our Brigades this will be based on crews of 8-10 paddlers, taking both paddling and support shifts. For this brigade all camping will be "car camping". Most days will be broken up into two or three paddling shifts, so folks should have a choice of paddling most days, and less than full days some days. Given this recent pandemic crews will be self sufficient, and there will be few "brigade meals." Crews will be responsible for all their paddling, camping and cook gear, transportation, and sharing all expenses. Typically one can expect a week + brigade such as this to cost about $250-$300... though budgets have yet to finalized. This has been a long awaited... twice postponed and we expect both Ceyana canoes and the brigade to "book-up" quickly. In May we will take a nose count, and organize a planning session for our club's participants. Interested club members may want to begin training with Darryl prior to this, and once crews are determined, crews may choose to do additional training. Until this registration form is over subscribed there is NO need for Ceyana members to complete either the crew or individual registrations below. We have registered two crews.

Club members Stewart and Juliette are co-chairing this event, and have just announced that pre-registration is open for the Peace River Brigade, July 22 to 28, 2022. The pre-registration is to identify the number of people interested in doing the brigade this summer as either a team crew with access to their own boat or unattached paddlers without a boat looking to join a crew. Pre-registration and the follow up final registration are being done through the Canadian Voyager Brigade Society. The links copied below are for Zone 4 which is managing the electronic registrations for CVBS. There is no cost for pre-registration. Once total number of paddlers and boats are confirmed and final budgets set, the payments will be due at final registration. Please read the information included in the pre-registration process. It will answer many questions you may have about the brigade.
We will meet for an afternoon sign-in on July 22 at Cotillion Park along the Peace River in NW Alberta. We start paddling July 23 near the Alberta - BC border. We finish paddling July 28 into the Town of Peace River, some 233 km later.
We look forward to paddling with you this summer! Stewart & Juliette Inglis
