Some members had such a fun time on the McLeod River and Wolf creek in the Edson area last summer they want to return.  And our old club "shipbuilding chairman" Ralph, who lives in Edson, and knows these runs well has agreed to help Ian get our paddlers down the river. The basic plan is to paddle the Mcleod R from Willmore Park to just below the Wolf creek confluence (25 km).  With a little luck, and playing in some of the fun spots paddling time should exceed driving time... it is over 2.5 hrs out to Wilmore campground south of Edson.  Paddlers will be expected to bring their own gear and boats for a full day of river tripping. Assuming normal water levels paddlers will need to have at least modest river skills: eddy turns, ferrying, maneuvering skills, rock reading and dodging, and basic river rescue skills.  Moose Creek rapids is the longest rapid and can go Class II+ at normal flows.  And there are a lot of fun gravel bar chutes.  This is a good run for rec/river kayaks, tandem and solo canoes.
